Exact match only
If the model number or SKU on a listing doesn't match the catalogue entry exactly, it isn't grouped — we'd rather show fewer offers than the wrong ones.
Five stages, run continuously. The interesting work is stage two — everything downstream depends on matching being right.
Product identity — brand, model number, name and specifications — comes from manufacturer and supplier information, not from retailer listings.
Why it matters: One canonical identity per machine, independent of how retailers describe it.
We periodically collect public listings from 101 Australian commercial kitchen retailers and match them using the exact supplier model number or SKU. There is no fuzzy matching.
Why it matters: Wrong matching quietly makes the whole comparison wrong — this stage gets the most scrutiny.
Retailers list prices differently — GST treatment, pack sizes, unit pricing. We normalise everything to AUD including GST, per unit before comparing. Statistical outliers that look like data errors are excluded from summary figures.
Why it matters: A $200 pack of six and a $35 single unit aren't comparable until normalised.
Each collection run records prices, which powers history charts and lets us verify that a “price drop” is genuine rather than a manufactured discount.
Why it matters: History is only as good as the matching in stage two.
Verified list prices are ordered ascending on each product page. We publish what we have, mark what's missing, and never reorder for payment.
Why it matters: The ranking rule is the product — everything else is supporting infrastructure.
This is the part that makes the comparison trustworthy. Retailers describe the same machine differently; the model number is the tie-breaker.
When the supplier model number matches exactly, listings belong in one comparison — regardless of what the retailer called the product on their site.
If the model number or SKU on a listing doesn't match the catalogue entry exactly, it isn't grouped — we'd rather show fewer offers than the wrong ones.
When someone reports a wrong match, we fix it manually. Mismatches are the failure mode that matters most.
Accessories, variants and successor models stay separate unless they carry a distinct, verified model identity in the catalogue.
Verified list price, ascending. That's it. Here is every input and every non-input.
A comparison site that only lists its strengths isn't being straight with you.
Stock reflects the retailer's listing at our last check — not a live warehouse feed. Freight varies by postcode, carrier and product; we don't estimate delivery unless we have a real source.
Promotions, trade accounts, bundles and cart-level discounts may differ from the listed price we captured. Always confirm with the retailer before purchasing.
We track 101 retailers today — not every seller in Australia. A low price here is the lowest among tracked listings, not a guarantee of the national best.
Specs come from supplier data and may be incomplete for older or niche lines. Missing dimensions or electrical details say “not recorded” rather than a guess.
Prices can change after our last collection (most recent update: 07 Oct 2026). Each offer shows when it was last checked.
Mismatched listings are the failure that matters most, because they quietly make the whole comparison wrong. Report issues with the model number and page URL.
